Some assorted GPG/PGP-related Mac Stuff
GPG for the Mac
Thanks to Benjamin Donnachie, the
MacGPG Project
once more has current binaries for out-of-the-box
installation of GPG on the Mac.
IDEA module for MacGPG
If you need the IDEA module
and are legally entitled to use it, these
instructions on the macgpg-users list should help you
along. NB: You need the Apple developer tools installed to
follow these instructions.
GPG for Apple Mail
The
Apple Mail GPG
Bundle offers nearly seamless integration of GPG into
Apple Mail. It has a few minor display quirks and can mess
with the flagging of new mails (see
this post for a potential workaround) but other than
that has worked for me (tm) for over two years now.
Pimp my paranoia
If you feel you do not want your
secret key to reside on something as inherently insecure as
a hard drive or USB memory device, you might want to check
out the
OpenPGP Smart
Card. OS X has built-in smart card capabilities,
although for my SCM Micro SCR-335 reader I had to download
and install
the
most recent driver.
